  • Don't forget the sunscreen! Plus 15 or higher... the sun can be very hot and unforgiving in Australia. A broad brimmed hat is useful; buy a genuine Akubra as a great souvenir.
  • If your kids are old enough, drop them off at the Waterworks waterslides (open Australian School Holidays and weekends from September to April) while you browse the Manly Art Gallery and Museum next door.
  • Try and avoid catching the Manly ferry in Australia during commuter peak hours (before 9 am, and 5 pm to 6 pm).
  • If you're exploring the grounds of St. Pat's, please remember it's a private college campus. Stick to the paths and come and go by the main gate.
  • If you like wheat beer, the place to get it on tap is the Bavarian Bier Cafe on the Wharf. Naturally, in Australia it's a German import. Elsewhere, for a crisp light local beer, try Pure Blonde - yes, the advertising covers all the jokes! Or choose a glass of Barossa or Hunter Valley wine.

"Exciting, a whole new concept"
Around The World Travel Radio

"Even though I am a local, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and learning more about the history of the landmarks. The author's interest in the area comes through in his engaging style of writing. Being able to complete the tour at my own pace made it even
more enjoyable."
Flora Savitzky (Researcher)

"When the conference ended, I stayed in town on my own and used T4M's self-guided tour to decide which things in town I wanted to visit and what to see/do there. The guide was right every step of the way. Bottom line, this guide helped me make the most of my time in town."
