Tips

  • Arrive at Flagler College at 10am or 2pm for a free tour of the college's public areas, including the rotunda, the parlor and the dining hall with its Tiffany windows and furnishings. Tours are student-led, so tipping is appreciated.
  • At the Alligator Farm Zoological Park, many of the animals are very close (in fenced pens), and to an alligator, food is food. Don't reach into the pens, and make sure small children don't poke their fingers through the fence.
  • Many visitors are surprised by the heat and humidity of a Florida summer, so take the usual precautions of sunscreen, a hat and a bottle of water. The occasional ice cream stop helps, too!
  • Golfers may want to take the short drive north on I-95 to the World Golf Hall of Fame. For one admission price, you can explore the history of golf, enjoy a film in the IMAX Theater, and play a round on the 18-hole natural grass putting course.
  • Visiting Anastasia State Park, across the river from St. Augustine, is a great way to spend a day. There are four miles of beaches, camping, nature trails, water sports, and the archaeological site where the coquina rock was mined to create the Castillo de San Marcos.

Reviews

  1. Debbie

My husband and I visited St. Augustine while vacationing in Florida. I downloaded this self-guided tour onto my Kindle. We walked around with it the entire time we were in St. Augustine and referred to it frequently. We found a great hotel, wonderful sightseeing, and excellent places to have meals and drinks. This guide was very informative and helped us find so many things we wouldn’t have found on our own.

"Exciting, a whole new concept"
Around The World Travel Radio

"Even though I am a local, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and learning more about the history of the landmarks. The author's interest in the area comes through in his engaging style of writing. Being able to complete the tour at my own pace made it even
more enjoyable."
Flora Savitzky (Researcher)

"When the conference ended, I stayed in town on my own and used T4M's self-guided tour to decide which things in town I wanted to visit and what to see/do there. The guide was right every step of the way. Bottom line, this guide helped me make the most of my time in town."
