  • Clearwater Beach is famous for miles of pure white sugar sand. That warm sun may feel good while you are at the beach, but a sunburn can ruin your vacation. To prevent this apply SPF 30+ sunscreen early and often, especially to your face, nose, ears, and shoulders. Tell the kids it's what all the pirates use!
  • Use lip balm containing SPF of 15 or more. Wear sunglasses with UV protection, a wide-brimmed hat, and flip-flops. Bring a shirt and cover-up for your baby. Bring a beach blanket, towels, and folding chairs. Load up a cooler with drinks. You can rent cabanas at the Lifeguard Station on Pier 60. Or bring your own beach umbrella.
  • Don't forget to bring the fun stuff too - inflatable toys, skim boards, sand pails, and shovels. Remember to take lots of pictures to keep these precious family vacation memories! And remember, a little sand or water can do a lot of damage to mobile phones and cameras. Store these in plastic resealable bags while you are on the beach.
  • Clearwater Beach is friendly for people with disabilities. The city provides free surf wheelchairs at the Life Guard Station on Pier 60 and at Sand Key Park. The surf wheelchairs are easier to use on the sand and float in the water.
  • Visit 'Winter' and her sea-creature friends at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium near Clearwater Beach. 'Dolphin Tale,' a major motion picture about Winter's amazing rescue and inspiring life, was released in 2011.

"Exciting, a whole new concept"
Around The World Travel Radio

"Even though I am a local, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and learning more about the history of the landmarks. The author's interest in the area comes through in his engaging style of writing. Being able to complete the tour at my own pace made it even
more enjoyable."
Flora Savitzky (Researcher)

"When the conference ended, I stayed in town on my own and used T4M's self-guided tour to decide which things in town I wanted to visit and what to see/do there. The guide was right every step of the way. Bottom line, this guide helped me make the most of my time in town."
