Brent doing demos of walking tours from VisualTravelTours

We tried an iPad today and tested our QuietGuides with and without internet connection. Wow! A full-screen display, small enough to carry but larger than a cell phone display. From VisualTravelTours.com  we downloaded the tour direct with wi-fi. I also emailed it to myself, and then opened it. Either way it gets there it was a breeze taking the walking tour along the Santa Barbara Waterfront. That’s one of our new tours: we’ve got the audio/video version that downloads like any movie file, and a QuietGuide, one of over 165 VTT QuietGuides (text + images for mobile, like an e-book with pictures).

We’ll stop by the Visitor Center and see if they want to try out the iPad. They stock From The Mission To The Wharf  a walking tour on CD with files to transfer to cell phones and computers, and we need to let them know that it will work on the iPad as well as all the other devices. Maybe we’ll have a chance to show the staff how to download direct to the iPad. Our virtual friends show you around town, and the tours are even easier for travelers that have larger screens on their cell phones or video iPods. Above you see Brent on the iPhone and laptop.
