Katmai National Park Tour; ‘This is one of the world’s top three natural destinations.’ That’s what Gavin Thurston, a 24-year veteran of the BBC’s Natural History Unit, said about Katmai National Park. In a place that offers world-class fly-fishing, unparalleled backcountry hiking, and incredible bear viewing, Katmai has it all. So come spend the day fly-fishing on a remote river or lake. Hike into the Valley of 10,000 Smokes, or, if you dare, witness the bears as they cavort, fish, and play right in front of you. Explore these and more with your expert personal guide, available 24/7 on your schedule!

Tips

  • Weather is an ever-changing phenomenon in Alaska. Dress in layers so that you can adapt to the changing conditions.
  • Bring a good pair of hiking boots. Don't bring new ones unless you've had the time to break them in. Painful foot blisters are the last thing you want in a National Park.
  • Buy film and/or memory cards. Once you think you have enough, buy a few more. The photo opportunities are abundant.
  • Leave your cell phone at home. It won't work in Katmai National Park.

"Exciting, a whole new concept"
Around The World Travel Radio

"Even though I am a local, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and learning more about the history of the landmarks. The author's interest in the area comes through in his engaging style of writing. Being able to complete the tour at my own pace made it even
more enjoyable."
Flora Savitzky (Researcher)

"When the conference ended, I stayed in town on my own and used T4M's self-guided tour to decide which things in town I wanted to visit and what to see/do there. The guide was right every step of the way. Bottom line, this guide helped me make the most of my time in town."
